Why Everyone Loves Escape Rooms

January 29 is National Puzzle Day so, whether you love enigmas, codes and conundrums or revel in riddles, why not come and have a go at one of our Escape Room games – the ultimate interactive puzzle. Pitting your wits against the clock, time is of the essence as you find clues to solve the problems and earn your escape.

If you’ve never been to an Escape Room and aren’t sure if it’s for you, then take a look at just some of the reasons why they’re proving so popular:

Something to suit everyone

At Escape Ipswich, we have six games on offer – each with its own distinct theme. Whether you opt to recover the Holy Grail, lift an age-old curse from restless spirits, retrieve world saving vaccines or rescue crew from an abandoned submarine, there’s an experience for everyone.

Games aim to challenge you with a variety of tasks but it’s not just a question of cracking codes; test your powers of association and turn your hand at deciphering symbols too. Choose from

  • The Da Vinci Room – steal the Holy Grail for the greater good!

  • Contagion – find the cure to a deadly virus or remain in quarantine forever!

  • Taken – rescue hostages and escape the clutches of a killer!

  • Casino Heist – will you be able to escape with a life-changing amount of money?

  • Locked Inn – you can’t escape this haunted pub until you’ve released the restless souls of previous owners.

  • Sub-Zero – this sub will stay submerged unless you can get the generators running again!

It’s just a game

Remember – it’s just a game and while each room is set up to enhance your experience, none of it is real. So, if séances, hauntings, killers (people and viruses) all seem a bit over the top, don’t forget that it’s all just pretend.

Remember, if it gets a bit too much, you can leave the room at any time.

Test your teamwork

It doesn’t matter where your skills lie, your freedom relies on you and your teammates working together. It’s not simply a question of collecting and solving clues, you’ll need to observe and think things through to escape in time.

All of this makes Escape Ipswich the perfect team building exercise and a great way to encourage communication as well as creative and critical thinking.

Fun with friends

Escape Rooms are ideal for banishing boredom and suited for teams of between two and five/six players depending on the experience you choose. Not only will it give you plenty to talk about if you’re feeling competitive, but each game has a record time that’s just waiting to be beaten.

With a success rate of 57% and record time of 31 minutes and 12 seconds, Taken is currently our most successfully completed game. If you’re looking for a challenge, with a success rate of just 44% and best time of 40 minutes and 52 seconds, then Locked Inn has proven to be the most elusive to escape from – can you lift the curse?

It’s different

Above all, Escape Rooms are different and far removed from average corporate team building days or nights on the town. They offer insight, excitement and a chance to try something new and interesting – you might even discover a hidden talent for solving problems under pressure.

Whatever your reason for doing an Escape Room might be, give it a go. And if you’ve done one before, why not try another – check availability and book right here.
